Founded in 2000, Rainbow World Fund is the world's first LGBTQ+-based humanitarian aid organization. RWF works to help people affected by natural disasters, hunger, poverty, disease, oppression, and war by raising awareness in, and funds from, the LGBTQ+ community to support both LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ people locally and around the world. RWF has donated over $6 million in humanitarian aid such as financial grants, food, water, medicine, medical equipment, and art and school supplies. RWF has provided over 85,000 hours of volunteer service.

RWF’s mission is to promote peace, unity, and hope by leading the LGBTQ+ movement to participate in humanitarian relief efforts.


RWF helps people in need while increasing positive visibility of the LGBTQ+ movement. RWF serves those most in need, regardless of race, religion, political belief, or sexual orientation. RWF is 100% volunteer run.

Examples of what your donations can do:

  • $35,000 - Save lives - remove landmines near a Cambodian village
  • $25,000 - Training for hundreds of LGBTQ human rights activists in Cuba
  • $10,000 - Provide safe water for a Honduran village.
  • $5,000 - Purchase the materials needed to establish 50 village latrines.
  • $3,000 - Help endangered LGBTQ+ Middle Eastern refugees reach safety in North America or Europe
  • $2,400 - Set up a yearly stipend for a HIV/AIDS peer educator in South Africa.
  • $1,500 - Safe haven for transgender refugees in Central America
  • $500 - Purchase 22 cases of hospital surgical masks and gowns.
  • $150 - Make possible 1 month of meals for an African hospice patient.
  • $50 - Provide the material to connect Guatemalan village household to the water system.
  • $15 - Secure 1 case of hospital surgical gloves.
  • $ - Enable 3 meals for an AIDS hospice patient.
